Tilak Varma Guides India to Nail-Biting Two-Wicket Victory Over England in Second T20I 

India won the second match of the five-match T20I series against England on Saturday, January 25. It was played at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. The second game was more tense than the first. India, 166 for 8, beat Three Lions, 165 for 9, by two wickets. The main hero of the game was batter Tilak Varma.

Heroic Actions Leading to Victory 

In the culminating segment of the match, England’s Brydon Carse made 3/29. This put India in a difficult position. At 146-8, the team needed 20 runs off the last 18 balls. But things ended well for the hosts in the end, thanks to Varma’s calmness and concentration. He made 72 not out off 55 balls, laced with 4 fours and 5 sixes. This allowed India to reach the finish line with four balls to spare. 

Varma was also helped immensely by batter Ravi Bishnoi. He made nine runs, including two boundaries, during their 20-run partnership. The two players together handled England’s disciplined bowling attack and gave their team the win. 

Varma’s Record Series 

Varma’s exceptional innings allowed the player to set a new record for the most runs scored between two dismissals in T20Is among full-member nations. He broke New Zealander Mark Chapman’s record of 271 runs set in 2023. Tilak now has 318 (107*, 120*, 19*, 72*) runs across four unbeaten innings. 

Confidence Continues to Rise
