Sanju Samson’s Injury Raises Concerns for IPL 2025: Will He Be Fit?
Rajasthan Royals fans hope for Sanju Samson in the upcoming IPL 2025 season. However, the team captain might not be ready for the start of the tournament due to injury.

Finger Injury
The Indian team won the TT20I series against England 4-1 in early February. Samson was injured during the final match. It happened during India’s batting innings. The player was confronting Jofra Archer and got hit on the finger. The injury forced him to leave the field. Instead of Sanju for the second innings, his Rajasthan Royals teammate Dhruv Jurel took the field.
The physical therapist examined Samson for several minutes. Although the player was obviously in pain, he actively encouraged his teammates. The good news is that he did not need an immediate scan on his finger. This could mean the injury is not as severe as it could have been, especially since Sanju continued to play after the injury despite the discomfort. The Indian team and Rajasthan Royals will monitor the player’s condition.
Samson’s Achilles’ Heel
Samson did not perform well in the recently concluded T20I series against England. The Indian player scored only 51 runs in five matches. At the same time, Sanju had shown fantastic results the year before, particularly making three T20I centuries.
In the matches against England, Samson’s weakness – his inability to handle short-pitched deliveries – became apparent. Experts are worried that future opponents may take this observation to heart. However, a player can improve, given his experience and talent.
