Jos Buttler Praises Abhishek Sharma’s Ball-Striking Despite England’s Crushing Loss to India

In the fifth game of the recently concluded five-match T20I clash between India and England, Indian batter Abhishek Sharma performed fantastically. He scored 135 off 54 balls to give his team a convincing victory (247/9 against 97). England captain Jos Buttler praised the player’s impressive performance.

Abhishek’s Impressive Game 

Abhishek largely contributed to England’s 150-run defeat — their most significant loss in the T20I format. With 135 from 54 balls, the player scored 38 more points than the entire Three Lions squad. Regarding Sharma’s results, Jos Buttler emphasized that he had never seen such a clean ball-striking performance. According to the captain, his team was disappointed, but there are days when you must give credit to your opponents — Abhishek played almost flawlessly.

Buttler quickly assured reporters that despite this defeat, England will not back down from their aggressive playing style. As the captain noted, in his career, there were several such matches in which the game could go according to any scenario. And there have been situations when a player who played as well as Abhishek was in the opponents’ lineup. Jos praised the English for hanging in there and fighting back despite the game going badly. He also emphasized that matches against India are always a big challenge as this team has many strong players.
