These and other accomplishments earned the cricketer the ICC Test Player of the Year award.
The Sixth Case in History
This marks only the sixth time in history that an Indian player has won the prestigious ICC Cricketer of the Year award. Previously, this honor has been bestowed upon these cricketers:
- Rahul Dravid (2004);

- Ravichandran Ashwin (2016);
- Virat Kohli (2017, 18).
Bumrah is recovering from a back injury. Indian fans hope the player will participate in the ICC Champions Trophy. India will play their first match in the highly anticipated tournament on February 20, but whether the doctors will permit Jasprit to play remains unclear. The player was initially scheduled to return for the third ODI match against England on February 12. But no new information has been received so far.
