Jasprit Bumrah’s Availability for Champions Trophy 2025 Uncertain Amid Back Injury Concerns
The much-awaited 2025 Champions Trophy will start in a few weeks in UAE and Pakistan. India has big plans for this tournament. The team has assembled a strong roster to regain its status as a dominant force in world cricket. However, the squad may change due to injuries before the event. One of the injuries is faced by top bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

Back Injury and Fitness Problems
Jasprit Bumrah is experiencing fitness problems due to a back injury. Experts and fans agree that the player’s likelihood of participating in CT 2025 will depend on renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Rowan Schouten. He has previously treated Bumrah after he was unable to play in the 2022 T20 World Cup due to injury.
The BCCI is in constant contact with Schouten. A BCCI source told reporters that it was expected that Bumrah might even travel to New Zealand to see the doctor, but that has not happened so far.
Replacement Options
India is already considering various options if Bumrah fails to recover in time for CT 2025. The player has been named on the team’s roster for the third ODI match against England on February 12, but he could be replaced promptly. Harshit Rana will play in the first two matches. The selectors may also bring back Mohammed Siraj to the team.
The team wants to wait for more information about Bumrah’s health, but no one will force the player’s return. It may be recalled that his premature return in 2022 during the home series against Australia led to further complications. As a result, Jasprit missed the T20 World Cup. Therefore, it is very important to be cautious and believe in the doctors’ verdicts.
