India continues actively preparing for the Champions Trophy, with matches starting as early as February 19 in Pakistan. The team will play its first game a day later in Dubai. For now, it is improving its tactical interactions playing against England. In January-February, India was stronger than the Three Lions 4-1 in the five-match T20I series. And now, it plays three matches against the same opponent in the ODI format and won the first game by four wickets.

Visit to Jagannath Temple

Before the second match, several Indian players visited Jagannath Temple to seek Lord Jagannath’s blessings during their stay in Odisha. Varun Chakaravarthy, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar were among them. Earlier, the national team was welcomed with great honor at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, where they arrived from Nagpur. The players walked the red carpet to the accompaniment of traditional dances by local performers.

Waiting for Kohli to Return

India is currently beating England 1-0 in the three-match ODI series. A likely win in the second game will allow the team to become an early winner of the clash. That said, it is still unclear whether batter Virat Kohli will be able to take part in the match. On Wednesday, he suffered a knee injury in training and missed the first game. The 36-year-old’s return will strengthen India as they prepare for the Champions Trophy.
