India to Decide on Jasprit Bumrah’s CT 2025 Participation on February 11
Famous pacer Jasprit Bumrah was included in India’s roster for three ODI matches against England a few weeks ago. This is the final stage of the team’s preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy, which will start in a few days. The player has also been added to India’s squad for this tournament, but with the adjustment, his travel will depend on his fitness.

Back Problems
Jasprit Bumrah is currently recovering from a back spasm. He developed these health issues during the Sydney Test against Australia in January. Since then, Jasprit has not played a single match and was dropped from the squad for the ODI clash against Three Lions. The player continues to recover, but doubts are increasing about whether he can regain his form in time.
Choosing Between Two Solutions
February 11 is the deadline to announce the final roster for the CT 2025. Men in Blue must make a tough decision on whether to include Jasprit Bumrah on the squad. According to ESPNcricinfo, the player recently underwent a back scan to see how his recovery progresses. The procedure was done at the BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. There can be two solutions if Jasprit is not ready to play:
- Leave the cricketer on the roster, realizing that he will not be able to play in the first matches of CT 2025 and hope that the player will return in the later stages of the tournament;
- Officially announce that young Harshit Rana will replace Jasprit in the lineup. Meanwhile, renowned cricket analyst Aakash Chopra is also calling for Mohammed Siraj to be included in the roster so that there are four fast bowlers.
A decision will be made soon enough, as there isn’t much time left before the tournament starts. CT 2025 kicks off on February 19 in Pakistan, while India will have its first match against Bangladesh the following day in Dubai. The team will also face Pakistan and New Zealand in the group stage on February 20 and 23, respectively.
