On January 28, Rajkot hosted the third game of the five-match T20I clash between India and England. After the first two matches, the Three Lions trailed 0-2, and they had no right to lose to keep their chances of winning the series alive. As a result, they defeated India by 26 runs.

England Batters had an Inspired Game

England’s final score of 171/9 was made possible by a crucial knock from Ben Duckett (51 off 28). Liam Livingstone actively supported him throughout the game (43 off 24). This allowed the Three Lions to capitalize on the powerplay and middle overs. Meanwhile, on the Indian side, Varun Chakravarthy (5/24) was the best bowler. His action created a lot of problems for Jos Buttler.

Chakravarthy acted cunningly and deliberately. He picked wickets at regular intervals and kept England’s run rate in check. England finished the match with a big lead despite losing wickets in clusters, thanks mainly to lower-order contributions from Adil Rashid and Mark Wood.

India’s Unstable Play

India’s lineup did not have the best match with many players. For instance, Ravi Bishnoi conceded 46 runs for one wicket, while Mohammed Shami and Washington Sundar missed runs under pressure. Sundar (6 off 15) and Tilak Varma (18 off 14) struggled to anchor the innings. However, many Indian players failed due to England’s inspired and disciplined play. With a confident and deserved victory, the Three Lions sealed the series and created a powerful intrigue for the fourth and fifth matches.
