Acknowledgements to Captains and Coaches

Sharma is just 24 years old. Considering there is a lot of competition for the batter position in India, he is performing admirably. As the player admitted, this has been largely influenced by his captains and coaches. They always told him to stay unique and not to change his style of play, which gave him fearlessness.

As Abhishek emphasized, India will always have a serious competition to make the national team. So, he is very grateful to T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir, who told him to relax and do what he could.

According to the player, batters can get worried if they don’t score points for three or more innings. But even in those situations, the coach and captain said, ‘It’s okay. We still know you’re a winner. You can win any match for us, so just go out there and do what you do best. It’s a great energizer,’ — the player emphasized.

‘Varun Chakravarthy is a Game Changer’

Sharma also commented on the match against England in Kolkata. He particularly praised the impressive performance of India spinners who restricted the opponents to 132. According to Abhishek, the game changer was Varun Chakravarthy. He noted that this player has improved the Indian team’s game significantly in the recent matches. ‘It is very difficult for other teams to counter such players’, — said Sharma. He also praised the performance of other spinners Ravi Bishnoi and Axar [Patel] bhai.
