Availability of Overseas Players
Almost all full member countries have signaled that their players will be available for the IPL 2025 season. The only exception is Pakistan, whose cricketers have not featured in the league since the beginning of the tournaments in 2008.
Australia
All the players from Cricket Australia will fully participate in the Indian Premier League in 2025, as no matches are planned from the IPL 2025 start date until the last game of the season. When it comes to the upcoming 2026 and 2027 seasons, players will also be available but with some exceptions, as important matches where the national team will participate are going to take place.
England
Overseas players from ECB will also be available for all three upcoming Indian Premier League seasons, including that of 2025. Bangladesh
BCB, aka Bangladesh Cricket Board, has sent 13 names of cricketers with different availability throughout the upcoming seasons.
The Format of the IPL 2025 Event
Each squad will have an opportunity to play twice against each team in the group and once with the remaining teams of the other group. The top four teams from each group will qualify for playoffs.
Qualifier 1 will bring together two teams. The other two teams will compete in a match, which is known as Eliminator. The winner of Qualifier 1 will directly qualify for the final. The losing team will play against the winner of the Eliminator game (Qualifier 2). And the winner of this match will meet the first finalist in the final match. The season will comprise 74 matches.
