The IPL 2025 retained players list has been officially issued. All ten teams, including Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, have decided to stay with their core squads, emphasizing stability and long-term strategy. Franchises have strengthened their teams by making calculated decisions and giving preference to a combination of up-and-coming players and seasoned athletes. Learn all the details.

Chennai Super Kings

Thanks to the IPL rule that allows an Indian player who hasn’t played international cricket for five years to be considered an uncapped player, the team has retained MS Dhoni. At a cost of only ₹4 crore from the Chennai Super Kings’ purse. The purse remaining is ₹55 crore. RTM options at auction: one player.

Mumbai Indians

Jasprit Bumrah has been Mumbai Indians’ highest paid retainer for the first time, and Hardik has been appointed MI’s IPL 2025 captain. Retaining their top Indian players within the ₹75 crore budget was Mumbai Indians’ biggest difficulty, but they were able to do so and maintain their core group going into the IPL 2025 mega auction.
